Study Schedules to Boost Your Grades

I think we can all agree that studying for exams isn’t exactly a fun activity. We put it aside, we say we’ll do it later and then we just end up procrastinating. If you want to stop worrying about how or when to study, a study schedule is the best way to go. Time is very important, and sometimes we don’t manage it properly, so study schedule planning can be a big help.

To succeed at your exams, a study schedule is simply a must, and with these few steps, your studying will become much more organised and much less stressful.
First of all, make a list of all the exams you have to study for. Then arrange them in order of importance. Once you have made your list you need to see how to fit them into your schedule. This is a very important step. Take a look at your agenda, whether on paper, on your computer or on your phone, and see how much time you have available each day. Remember to be realistic, as excessive studying isn’t always productive; don’t set goals that you won’t be able to meet. Avoid filling in all your free time with studying because you need to have some free time to rest and relax, studying without proper breaks can lead to more pressure, more stress and poor results. Try to study for a minimum of 30 minutes each day. If you re-read your lessons at home before going to bed, for example, you will remember them more easily. Daily studying is the key to good grades.
Time is precious, so organise it smartly. Don’t forget to consider your personal study habits. Maybe you like to study in a busy bookshop café, or you need the quiet of the library. A scheduled study session in a specific external environment can be very productive. Or you can try new environments. Is there a great museum café you pass by everyday on your way home? Put it on your schedule. Studying won’t feel like such a chore if you incorporate into your everyday routine and by shaking it up a little, you’ll keep it fresh and it will make organising your time more fulfilling.
Planning a study schedule can be difficult but sticking to it is the biggest challenge. If you don’t stick to it, it won’t work and you’ll be back to where you started. But if you plan wisely, not only will you see your grades go up, you’ll also cut down on stress and reap the benefits.
